I’m not even sure if I’m in the position to write a topic like this considering that I’m nowhere near successful just yet. But I do have my own share of success at some points in my life; I’m just saying that I’m not in that permanent state of my life just yet. However, the following are the key points that I believe would lead you to success. So I may not be the professional whose opinion should matter more but there’s no hurting to know the opinion of a 20-year-old graduate.

Motivation. This is so cliché I know! “Motivation is the key to success”. Yea it’s like that but let me explain. I think motivation is more important than talent. Some are born with talent and the abilities but they’re not motivated enough to learn new things. If someone is motivated to learn, chances are, they’ll acquire more skills than the person who’s born with it but isn’t motivated enough to develop themselves. You do nothing and your skills and talents will fade, but work on what you have and motivate yourself to learn, then you’ll be better at it every day.

Doing what you love. Success really is connected to how much you love what you’re doing. The same thing as your lessons in school. If your teacher wants you to do a type of homework you’re not interested in doing, most probably you’ll leave it off till the last minute. If you love the homework given to you, you would have probably done it before anyone even has the chance to remind you to.

Being Firm in your Faith. I personally believe in God. God for me is keeping my path straight. But then if you have some other belief then I suggest you be firm in it. Make sure that the faith you have is something you really greatly believe in. If you feel like there’s something wrong then go and look for the faith you will truly commit to. Now how in the world is this related to success? Being a firm believer in something is a sign that you could also be firm in your goals. If you can stand for something and you know have a belief system you follow, most likely you know how to follow rules and you do things not by your own accord. You don’t rely solely in yourself whose decisions could change in a matter of seconds. But if you have a firm belief in God or whatever faith you may have, then you have basis for your decisions and it will keep you on track.

Having someone who inspires you. Now I’m not talking about the lovey dovey inspiration thing. This is not about finding someone to fall in love with or what not. I’m saying you look for someone whose life you want to be like. Not even his/her life but the skills and success he/she has reached. If you have someone you look up to or someone who inspires you, you will have an idea on what to do to get there. You have someone to give a glimpse of the future you are dreaming to reach. Sometimes you need a visual on what it is like to reach that success you've been attaining.
