It’s not valentines but a little something about love is never out of season. Just overheard people a while ago saying: “Why can’t I find love?”
So then all these cheesy rhymes and subtle ideas just came in through my head.
I’ve seen so many, stroll in the park
They wear matching shirts with cute little hearts
They bat their eyes and pout their lips
Then sooner or later, I see them kiss
I have a friend who talks ‘bout this guy
She says he’s so cute, he makes her heart fly
But there’s just one question I keep thinking of
I’m shy to ask it but, “what is love?”
When I ask that question, I hear so many things
The words ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ and the pleasure they bring
But for me there’s much more, a lot more about it
It keeps us together just like a magnet
It could be a puppy with a kitten, or a ‘hello’ from a friend
A long handwritten letter you are ready to send
Or maybe a father teaching her daughter how to drive
And a house pet waiting for the owner to arrive
Could be the hug you get when your parents get home
Or when I call my friend when she says she’s alone
An old man and a woman with a smile on their face
Though the wrinkles on their skin, you could easily trace
A teenager reaching a kite for a kid
Or when I do a favour of opening a lid
When someone waters the plants for it to be greener
And teaching my mom how to use the computer
So why do some people still keep looking for this?
Just look around you and I’m sure you won’t miss
Those were the scenes I kept thinking of
I guess it answers my question “What is love?”
