I have been a great fan of NBA Live games ever since I was in high school. Every year, I’m looking forward to their new release, expecting new and improved graphics, gameplay, and other features which always makes me ecstatic. NBA Live has been around since late 90’s and most gamers still remember it’s famous NBA superstars covers like Michael Jordan and Kevin Garnett.
I can still remember the time when NBA Live 2003 became a hit and I purchased this game much to my delight.
The rivalry between the makers of NBA Live ( EA Sports ) and NBA 2K ( 2K Sports ) have been around for quite some time now. Back then, I was laughing how NBA 2K13 player’s looked like cartoons and very comical. I even said that they will never have a chance against NBA Live. Never!
Guess what, I have to eat my words. NBA Live slowly degraded. EA released NBA Elite 2011 and then it disappeared. It was a 3 year long hiatus which kept many fans wondering, will they ever come back?
Now the long wait is over, EA Sports have released NBA Live 2014 which featured many interesting improvements like the on-court A.I. ( artificial intelligence ) and what they call “ Big Moments “, which re- enacts real NBA moments from previous seasons.
The only drawback is its graphics, EA has to face the reality that 2K has been enjoying on their throne for many years now. They have taken over the hearts of millions of NBA gamers. Seeing NBA Live 2014, will just make me feel frustrated. They said that NBA Live 2014’s graphics sucks compared to NBA 2K14 and I have to agree to them. I've seen several comparisons and screenshots.
Also, here are some detrimental comments of NBA video gamers regarding NBA Live 2014.
The early impressions that most of us had are not that good, but I still want to give props to EA Sports for making NBA Live 2014. Having two great competitors and game producers will just make the NBA video game more exciting because of the future enhancements that both sides will make just to stay ahead and to draw more fans of the game.
